Marin Ireland and Steven Pasquale will join original off-Broadway cast members Piper Perabo and Thomas Sadoski in the upcoming Broadway transfer of Neil LaBute’s Reasons to be Pretty. The play, which debuted to critical acclaim last spring, is scheduled to begin previews at the Lyceum Theater on March 13, with opening night set for April 2. Original helmer Terry Kinney will direct.
Ireland and Pasquale replace original cast members Alison Pill and Pablo Schreiber, who starred in the dark comedy during its New York premiere at MCC's Lucille Lortel Theater last season. The third in LaBute’s trilogy of works on the country’s obsession with beauty, Reasons to be Pretty follows a tight-knit circle of factory workers as Greg Sadoski is thrown into turmoil when his off-hand remarks about a female co-worker's pretty face and his girlfriend's lack thereof get back to said girlfriend Ireland. When Greg's best buddy Kent Pasquale and Kent's wife, Carly Perabo, also enter into the picture, the emotional equation becomes exponentially more complicated.
Sadoski is currently part of the ensemble of Becky Shaw at Second Stage, which has just extended its run through March 15. No announcement has been made as to when he will depart or who his replacement will be.
Reasons marks Ireland’s Broadway debut. The actress’ off-Broadway credits include Savannah Bay, The Harlequin Studies, Where We’re Born, Sabina, Manuscript and Beebo Brinker Chronicles. Film credits include The Manchurian Candidate, Suburban Girl, I am Legend and Rachel Getting Married.

He also appeared on the small screen for three seasons in the hit series Rescue Me; film credits include The Last Run, Aurora Borealis and Alien vs Predator: Requiem.
